Herb Wood is a painter of landscapes of Santa Cruz County, Arizona. His paintings are done in the realist tradition similar to the Hudson River School. He uses glazes of various colors to create luminosity and an atmosphere of mood in the paintings. He works predominantly in oil, but also works on pen and ink drawings.
